Page Link Feature Description

Canvas offers the Page Link object, which allows users to display and switch between different pages within a defined area of the current page. Unlike changing the active runtime page, the Page Link object updates only its own display region, allowing the main page to remain visible and interactive.

The Page Link object is useful for creating reusable interface sections such as navigation panels, status windows, equipment detail views, or other embedded displays. Users can dynamically change the displayed page without affecting the rest of the screen, making it easier to organize complex projects while maintaining a consistent operator interface.

Click Insert > Page Link, or click the Insert Page Link icon on the toolbar, then click and drag on the page to create a Page Link object as shown below:

Properties

The Page Link object can be customized based on specific properties.

To ensure the property windows are enabled, click View > Properties.

Basic Properties

The Basic property allows users to configure the fundamental aspects of the Page Link object. Users can set the object's Name, the Page Name to be displayed within the object, and a Minimize option to collapse the displayed page.

Appearance

The Appearance section enables the use of selections to alter visible characteristics, including visibility, opacity, blinking, and blink interval (ms).

Position

The Position section provides adjustable properties that reshape or move the object.

Permissions

Permissions can be assigned to the Page Link object to allow the correct users to interact with it. Users can set the behavior On Insufficient Permission and assign specific Permissions to the object.
